Research
My field of interest seamlessly bridges the study of both urban and natural catchments, leveraging modeling techniques, incorporating green and blue infrastructure solutions to address flooding problems, applying insights from the hydrology guide by natural tracers, and ultimately contributing to effective water management strategies. At its core, I am dedicated to unraveling the intricacies of water dynamics within diverse landscapes, encompassing the untouched beauty of natural catchments and the complex tapestry of urban environments. Through modeling efforts, I seek to simulate and understand the multifaceted processes governing water movement in these distinct settings—whether in the context of natural catchments or the engineered networks of urban landscapes. This integrated field of interest positions me at the intersection of science, policy, and practice. I aspire to not only expand our knowledge of hydrological behaviors but also contribute to the development of strategies that ensure the sustainable coexistence of water resources and human settlements. By fostering a holistic approach, my aim is to raise awareness about the utilization of water resources in a world where such resources are increasingly precious and limited.

Enhancement of Flood Resilience in the Guayaquil City Delta - Febres Cordero Parish
Urban flooding is a major problem in many coastal cities. The rapidly shifting patterns of land use and demographic increase are making conventional approaches to stormwater management fail. The implementations of approachs with nature-based solutions help to increase city resilience and rise awarness about climate actions to reduce flood risks.
